School Council 2016/2017
At Sacred Heart, our school council aims to ensure that all pupils have a voice and are able to have their thoughts and opinions heard. Our councillors work extremely hard to help make school a safe and happy place for all. During our meetings, we discuss different ways in which we can improve our school or local community and try to put our plans into action. Please make sure to check this page for updates about the school council.

Pupil Parliament project 2016
Our school council were fortunate enough to have been invited to partcipate in the pupil parliament project, with schools from the local area. Four of our year six councillors travelled to Manchester college where they first had the opporitunity to meet school councillors from local schools. We were then introduced to our two special guests; John Bercow MP, speaker of the house of commons and Mike Kane, local MP for Wythenshawe.
Mr Bercow spoke to us about what it's like working in parliament and how this relates to our role as school councillors. We were even priviledged enough to take part in a debate chaired by the speaker himself! We are already looking forward to our next meeting and have been asked to bring some items which represent our local area; if anybody has any ideas please let us know!
