School opens on Monday 8th April. 

Reminder: There will be no after school club on Thursday.

During Lent we will be encouraging the children to think of different ways to raise money for charity, each class will run a fundraising activity to support local charities and good causes. 

Please send in loose change (20p-50p) with children for fundraising activies this week. 

We are holding our own clothes day on Friday 15th March to raise money for the Guide Dogs Charity www.guidedogs.org.uk a worthy cause given the good work that they do in the community to help those in need.

We will share further details of the fundraising activities that the children will get involved in subsequent newsletters.

Dear Parents and Carers

CHRISTMAS FAIR - I would like to thank you for your generosity in sending into school the various items for our Christmas Fair, which will take place on Friday 8 December at 4.00pm.

This Friday 1 December is Toy Day and will be an Own Clothes Day, please send in Toys that day and the following Friday 8 December is Cake Day will also be an Own Clothes Day, we hope that you will be able to send in cakes for the Cake stall, either home-made or bought on this day in time for the Fair!

We look forward to seeing all the children with family and friends for an evening of fun during this festive season.

RECONCILIATION

  1. 3 FIRST FORGIVENESS – Our Year 3 children will be making their First Forgiveness on Wednesday 13 December at 6.30pm in in Church. As part of their preparation for this Sacrament the children will participate in a Retreat Day at the Marist Centre on Tuesday 5 December. A letter has been sent home, if you haven’t already sent back your consent form please do so, thank you.

RECONCILIATION FOR THE OLDER CHILDREN – Father Michael will be visiting the school and will be working with the older children as part of this Advent Season giving them the opportunity to take part in the Service of Reconciliation Year 4 and Year 6 will have the opportunity on Tuesday 5 December and Year 5 on 11 December. These services will take place sometime during the school day.

INVITATION TO OUR PARISHIONERS AND GRANDPARENTS to come to school at 1.30pm on Thursday 14 December for Mince Pies and Sherry where entertainment will be provided by Key Stage One (Infants) performance of ‘Baubles’ and the Key Stage 2 (Juniors) Carol Concert.

ADVENT PRAYER TRAIL – on Tuesday 19 December the children will take part in an Advent Prayer Trail to help them focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

END OF TERM THANKSGIVING MASSWednesday 20 December at 9.30am – As the term draws to a close the children will be celebrating Mass. This will provide us with the opportunity to reflect on the Term and give thanks for all our achievements and to look forward to celebrating the feast of Christmas.

Please note school will close for the Christmas break at 2.30pm on Wednesday 20 December 2017

NSPCC Childline Assembly, by Miss Barnes

On Monday 13th February, there will be no Good News Assembly as we are having 2 special Childline assemblies for KS1 and KS2. Years 5 and 6 will also have workshops delivered by the NSPCC Childine throughout the morning.

Summer Reading Challenge, by Miss Opdam

Pop along to any Manchester library and register for the 'Big Read Summer Challenge.' There are so many amazing activities going on in your library this summer including: mask making, lego, music making, puppets, story telling, rhyme time, craft tables and many more. 

We would love to see everybody with a certificate from their local library in September to say that they successfully completed the reading challenge!
